Just a Little Gas

 

 
Happiness is
       an inflated thing,
       an overrated thing,
a flirtation, a tryst,
gone before you turn your head.
Happiness is
       an inert chemical
       leaking from a bright stretchy thing.
It leaves you holding a knotted string.
