The "Great Apes" of History


 


All primates make political alliances.
It’s true.  If you
Don’t believe me,
Read the histories.
The “Great Apes” especially shine.
Their lives, their loves, their
Visions beyond pro-simian kind
Kind of make up the story.
If they possess
Political finesse
They rise to the top of the tree
Effortlessly.
Unless, of course, they’re terrestrial
As all primates are
Eventually.
