Three Ways to Ruin a good Relationship



uno
listen for ghosts walking through the halls
in the middle of the day--pretend you can’t see
your lovers breath in the cold air.

dos
drive down 35, drink bitter coffee from a plastic cup
and roll down all the windows—pray for salvation
no exits and blue skies.

tres
give up abstract ideas like love, liberty, hate, soul
& happiness-pour yourself into the nearest bar
and drink until your sins find a dance partner.
